New Haircut

I got a new haircut and I was going to put a picture, but I didn't like any of them. I will try to put one later. I cut the ponytail for Locks of Love. I told her if I had enough to cut what she needed and then just layer it up. I wasn't sure if I was going to really like it, but I do. I am not really picky and it is easier to fix than my long hair, but I do have to do a little more fixing more often because it won't go back into much of a ponytail anymore. Which as most of you know is my normal style! :)

Tucker is 2!!!

Tucker turned 2 on November 2nd. We had his birthday on Saturday the 1st. I made this cake. I had lots of fun and it turned out ok, but the picture does it quite a bit of justice.

Nolan was worn out quickly by all of the company.

Tucker wasn't actually feeling very well, so he wasn't the entertainer that he normally is.

He did brighten up toward the end of the party, but he waited to have some cake and ice cream until the next day when he felt better.

The robe was one of his many birthday presents and he really likes everything he got. Everyone knows him pretty well! Thank you to all of the family that could make it and hopefully he will feel better for his next party!

Just a quick update

Last weekend we visited family in Missouri. It was a lot of fun. Tucker fell asleep on the way down holding Elmo. Elmo has been his new best friend lately. I took these pictures today. Nolan is about 10 weeks old now and about 16 1/2 pounds. They get along really well. I can't wait until Nolan can really interact with Tucker. They should take some good naps when they can play together!

My Little Boys

These are my little boys! Tucker really talks to Nolan and loves on him. Nolan watches him so close.

Tucker is almost 2 and Nolan was not quite 2 months here.

Buddies

This is Klayton , Tucker and Nolan. Then Tucker, Tommy and Trent.

Buddies!

Almost 5 weeks

Nolan is now almost 5 weeks old. He weights probably close to 13 1/2 lbs too. He is growing and changing fast!

Snuggling with my boys.

Most of you already know that Tucker is a snuggler, but Nolan may be one too. I picked Nolan up and layed him beside me because he was a little fussy and Tucker decided there was room for him too. We all actually fell asleep like this for a little while.

Poor Sheldon was left out, but he didn't mind having the whole couch all to himself!

First Smile

Lots of times Nolan decides to wait to go, until I lay him down to change him, which is normal, so I hear. The other day he started something new. As soon as I lay him down he starts kind of smiling. I got this one.

I don't think he is smiling in reaction to me, but you never know, may he is. :)

Big Boy Underwear (kind of)

We have been trying lots of different things to help Tucker start to figure out the potty thing. He doesn't really seem to care much, but we keep trying. We decided to get him some big boy underwear and this is what happened. He did this by himself! He was being pretty goofy that night.

They are put away for now, but we'll see how it goes again soon.

Grandma is VERY happy!

Labor Day weekend my sisters were back with their kids and we all got together. This was the first time Nolan got to be with all of the cousins at the same time. How much fun was that!!!

But we're not done yet. My sister-in-law is expecting again in November and I am sure there will be news from my sisters again in the near future. My parents couldn't be happier. Tucker is the oldest one and there will be six by Christmas! There are going to be kids everywhere! It is going to be so much fun!

Little Brother

So there is a little bit of a similar look between the boys. This is a picture of Tucker when he was a baby, next to Nolan, or course.

There are a few similarities.

2 1/2 Weeks!!!

Well, it has gone fast already, but Nolan is now 2 1/2 weeks old. At his appointment on Monday he was 12 lbs. 3.5 oz. Growing fast! He actually had his clothes on and had just eaten, so that might be a little high, but right around 12 lbs. is probably correct. Everything is going well. Tucker is a very proud brother sometimes, but other times he seems to wish he was the only one still (waking up from his nap especially). Tucker likes to rock Nolan and he gives him lots of kisses!

Daddy is really crazy about his boys too!

More Nolan Pictures

Joy and Nolan are both doing great!

Here are a few more pictures of our new guy.

Nolan Ray McGuire Has Arrived!!!

Nolan Ray McGuire arrived Saturday August 9th at 11:00AM. He is 10 lbs. and 23 in. long.

We are so glad to have our little bundle finally arrive. Everyone is doing well, but needs some rest. Thank you all again for your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate all of the support.

Wednesday Family Night Kickoff

Last night was our Wednesday Family Night Kickoff. We all brought sides and desserts and the hotdogs and hamburgers were provided. There were a couple of inflatable toys rented for the kids and they had a blast!! Tucker was a little too small, but with the help of one of the older girls, he got to play.

He only got to go down 3-4 times, but he had a blast! He stood and played with the water sprayers on the side for a while before he decided he wanted to try the slide. He didn't know what to think at first, but he liked it enough to do it several times! I think all of the kids had a really good time and we enjoyed getting to catch back up with our church family, after having the summer off from our Wednesday night activities. Next week we will go back to the normal schedule, which is a meal and then our small group bible studies.

No baby yet

Well, we are still waiting as patiently as possible for our new baby. I was actually do last Friday, so we really can go at any time. I have an appointment tomorrow, they will do my normal check-up and a non-stress test to make sure that the baby is doing ok, but then it will continue to be a waiting game. We (or I) have chosen to go to the Birth and Women's Center in Topeka. I had a very good experience with Tucker and I am sure I will feel the same this time too. The people there are very supportive and just plain kind. I have been getting lots of looks and comments, especially from my concerned church family. I joked last week that I wasn't going to go to church if I was still pregnant. It really was a joke, I am still feeling good, just very anxious to meet the new member of our family and continue with our lives. It has been extremely hard for me to focus on much else and I can only imagine how much harder it has been for Sheldon to try to keep things organized at work, all the while wondering if I am in labor at home. He is very anxious too, which just makes me happy. He is so supportive, yet such a joker. He keeps telling me that he is ready anytime, just in case I forgot that he said that the previous several days! I keep telling myself that each day I am one day closer, because this baby has to come sometime. Tucker was a week and a half late, so in Tucker-time this baby wouldn't come until the 11th or 12th. God knows! I keep reminding myself of that also! :) That helps me not worry.
Again, we will get pictures posted as soon as possible. Thanks again for all of your thoughts and prayers!

Still Pregnant

Well, we are still pregnant and still trying to wait patiently for our little one to arrive. I have been getting a lot of comments like, "You're still here!" and "How much longer do you have?", "Are you sure there is just one?". I am feeling pretty good most of the time. I can tell that my body is preparing, but how soon, you never can tell. I have been trying to take naps as often as I can, just to make sure that I am well rested when the time comes, which would be right now while Tucker is asleep, so I had better get going! Just wanted to do a little update. We will post an update and post pictures of the new baby as soon as possible! Thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers.

Family Day at the Zoo

Saturday morning was our family day at the zoo. We have been wanting to take Tucker for a while and decided that we better make the trip before the new baby comes, because I won't want to go for a little while after that. Tucker loves his animal books and can tell you what they are and what kind of sound some of them make. We assumed he would be very excited and impressed. He was actually a little taken back I think. Especially with the big animals. I think he enjoyed himself, but he didn't show it much.

After the zoo we ate at Cici's, which we all enjoy. He likes pizza, just like his mom!

By the time we got home we were all worn out and decided to take a nap.

Such a blessing to spend the day with your family!

Baseball room

We have been slowly transitioning Tucker's room into a 'big boy' room for a little while now. The walls aren't colored to match the theme, but I did want to make him some new curtains and a blanket for his bed. Tucker's grandma Patty made him a fleece quillow and letters that match perfectly. She also found him the baseball bean bag chair at a garage sale the other day. Tucker loves to play any kind of ball too, so he is pretty excited about his room.

Stop and smell the...flowers!

After bible study this morning, my little guy decided to stop and smell the beautiful flowers that line the sidewalk into the building.

He is such a good reminder to stay on track and not get in too much of a hurry!

M&M's Night Out

Last night our group met at the Pizza Shoppe for a night out for the moms. The service wasn't great, but we still had a good time! Look at the smiles!

Cheese!

Tucker's friend, Tommy, had his second birthday on Saturday the 7th. I think all of the kids had fun. Here is Tucker saying "cheese"!

VBS Update

I just thought I would post a note about how my lesson went with VBS. I was very nervous about it, but it went fine. I think the kids really learned what they were supposed to learn from my lesson. I am so glad to get it done and now I can help in other areas where I am not so nervous!

New A/C!

Growing up I had an upstairs room. My parents would wait well into the summer, (we're talking late June or early July at the earliest!) before they would break down and turn on the air conditioner. I am pretty sure I remember them going completely through the summer once without turning on the air conditioner. You know what it feels like when you really feel like you need a shower because you are just so hot and sticky and when you get out of the shower, even a cool shower, you are still sweating! How frustrating!
Well, Sheldon and I usually try to wait as long as we can to turn the air on, but we don't get too crazy about it. He decided that he would check on our air conditioner here, since we haven't been here long enough to need to use it. He didn't think it was working right so he had someone come and check it out. Yep, it's done! Luckily we bought a home warranty when we bought the house, that would cover most major appliances! We are getting a new air conditioner put in today and we only have to pay for a little more than the service call! We questioned the home warranty when we bought it, but thought it couldn't hurt to do it for the first year, since the house was a foreclosure! Glad we did! I should be cooled off in no time! And I am really looking forward to it!

Train Ride Anyone?

I just thought I would share this with all of the proud parents out there. I never got it printed to share with everyone who had kids in the nursery that night. I believe Josiah started the train and all of the kids just followed right along.

They were even saying "choo choo".

Financial Peace University Jr.?

Sheldon and I have really enjoyed the Financial Peace University. We are sitting in on the class again, as a refresher. We have much more confidence in how we are doing things now than we did before. It has been a huge blessing to us. We didn't realize it was impacting Tucker so much though. I was balancing the checkbook one day and left it only for a moment. When I returned I found this.

He had no idea what he was doing, but I thought it would be a good picture to send to Dave Ramsey and tell him that we were starting early, really early!

Half In Bed

We moved Tucker to his big boy bed early in April and he took to it great. We have had our times when he fights it a little, but we expected it to be much more of change than it was. It has created some very funny moments since we moved him into it. Here is one of those moments.

This was an evening that I had a MOPS meeting, so he was already in bed when I got home. I just about woke him up laughing when I first saw him. I don't know how that didn't wake him up!

VBS

I remember VBS from when I was a kid. I loved VBS! I remember my cousins even coming with us when they were visiting. Great memories! I remember a few of the specific stories we learned about and some of the different crafts or food we made, but mostly I just remember that I loved it. Well, for our church VBS this year I am doing one of the lessons and I am soooo nervous! It is out of my comfort zone to have to talk for any period of time. I am afraid that I am just going to be completley blank when the kids come to my room! I have been practicing my stuff and praying about it a lot, so I am sure it will be fine, but these butterflies won't go away until I am done! I hope the kids all learn and enjoy VBS as much as I did. (Maybe that's why I'm so nervous!) :)

Here it goes!

They say a woman uses so many words a day and men use so many less words a day. I don't recall the numbers for sure. This will be helpful to keep Sheldon and I a little closer to the same number of words when he gets home from work. Also I will post pictures of Tucker and our new baby (later) for anyone interested in our family fun!
